I)   Overview
MGE OPS software used to secure a Silicon-Graphics station 
is composed of files f_cl_iri.exe, e_cl_iri.exe and umc_irix.taz . 
File f_cl_iri.exe (auto-extractible zipped file) contains this 
readme file and french manual in Microsoft Word 6 format. 
File e_cl_iri.exe (auto-extractible zipped file) contains this 
readme file and english manual in Microsoft Word 6 format. 
File umc_irix.taz contains the software to be installed. 

It is highly recommended to read the documentation before 
installing the software. 

II)  Usage
To set this release you must 
- write the umc_irix.taz file in /tmp of your station. 
- change name from umc_irix.taz to umc_irix.tar.Z with command 
  mv umc_irix.taz umc_irix.tar.Z 
- uncompress file with command 
  uncompress umc_irix.tar.Z 
- create a new directory /tmp/MGE 
- extract files from archive 
  cd /tmp/MGE 
  tar xvf /tmp/umc_irix.tar 
- go in directory /tmp/MGE/UPSMAN/IRIX/CLIENT to execute the 
  installation script 
  cd UPSMAN/IRIX/CLIENT 
  ./INSTALL 
- follow instruction in user guide to install and configure the 
  software 

III) Attention
If you have never run the tests described in user guide, you should 
do them before starting UM-Client.


FRENCH SECTION

I)   Présentation 
Le logiciel de MGE UPS pour sécuriser une station Silicon-Graphics 
se compose des fichiers f_cl_iri.exe et umc_irix.taz . 
Le fichier f_cl_iri.exe (au format zip auto-extractible) contient 
ce fichier et le manuel d'utilisation francais au format Microsoft 
Word 6. 
Le fichier e_cl_iri.exe (au format zip auto-extractible) contient 
ce fichier et le manuel d'utilisation anglais au format Microsoft 
Word 6.
Le fichier umc_iri.taz contient le logiciel lui-même. 

Nous vous recommandons de à lire cette documentation générale avant 
d'installer le logiciel.

II)  Utilisation 
Pour mettre en oeuvre cette version, vous devez : 
- écrire le fichier umc_irix.taz dans le répertoire /tmp de votre 
  station 
- renommer le fichier umc_irix.taz en umc_irix.tar.Z en utilisant la 
  commande 
  mv umc_irix.taz umc_irix.tar.Z 
- décompresser le fichier en utilisant la commande 
  uncompress umc_irix.tar.Z 
- créer le nouveau répertoire /tmp/MGE 
- extraire les fichiers contenus dans l'archive 
  cd /tmp/MGE 
  tar xvf /tmp/umc_irix.tar 
- exécuter le script d'installation depuis le répertoire 
  /tmp/MGE/UPSMAN/IRIX/CLIENT 
  cd UPSMAN/IRIX/CLIENT 
  ./INSTALL 
- suivre les instructions décrites dans le manuel utilisateur pour 
  installer et configurer le logiciel 

III) Recommandation 
Si vous n'avez jamais réalisé les tests décrits dans la 
documentation, il est important de les mettre en oeuvre avant de 
démarrer UM-Client.
